"Kajaji SHS Bid Farewell to the Headmaster During SRC Week, as New School Bus Marks His Legacy"

· August 27, 2026
Kajaji Senior High School (Kajaji SHS) is set to host its annual Students' Representative Council (SRC) Week, a vibrant week-long celebration packed with activities designed to promote unity, leadership, talent, and school spirit among students. This year's edition carries special significance, as it will also serve as a fitting send-off for the school's Headmaster, Mr. Daniel Kwodjo Manu, who is set to leave the school after his tenure.

The SRC Week celebration will open with a colorful durbar and match-past, featuring students dressed in their house colors and matching uniforms, accompanied by drumming and cultural performances to set the tone for the rest of the week's events.
Throughout the week, the school will organize a rich variety of programs, including sports and athletics competitions such as inter-house football and other games fostering healthy competition and team spirit; cultural displays and traditional dance performances showcasing the rich heritage of the school's diverse student population; quiz and debate competitions testing students' academic knowledge and public speaking skills; talent shows giving students a platform to display their skills in music, comedy, poetry, and dance; an inter-house drama festival with each house presenting original skits and plays touching on social issues and school life; a fashion parade highlighting creativity and confidence among the student body; and clean-up exercises and community outreach reinforcing the values of service and civic responsibility.
Teachers, prefects, and the SRC executives have been working behind the scenes to coordinate the events, ensuring a smooth rollout of the packed schedule.
Perhaps the most emotional highlight of this year's SRC Week will be the unveiling of a brand-new school bus, one of the final and most significant achievements of Mr. Manu's leadership before his departure. The Headmaster reportedly engaged various stakeholders, old students, and benefactors over an extended period to secure funding and support for the acquisition of the vehicle, determined to leave a lasting mark on the school before handing over the reins.

The unveiling ceremony, planned as part of the week's activities, will see the new bus proudly displayed and blessed, with students and staff expected to gather to celebrate the achievement and to honor the Headmaster's years of service. School authorities have already begun commending Mr. Manu's vision and commitment, noting that the new bus will go a long way in solving the school's long-standing transportation challenges long after he has gone.

The bus is expected to facilitate students' participation in inter-school sports, quizzes, and other competitions; support educational excursions and field trips; ease the movement of staff and students for official school activities; and serve as a reliable means of transport during emergencies.

Members of staff, parents, and students have already expressed their appreciation for the Headmaster's dedication, describing the new bus as a fitting legacy for his time at the school. Students are expected to publicly thank Mr. Manu and his entourage during the week, with some planning songs and tributes in his honor as part of the cultural displays and as part of the school's farewell to him.
Old students and well-wishers of the school are also reportedly part of the entourage that supported the initiative, further strengthening the bond between the school and its alumni network.

The SRC Week celebrations are expected to climax with a grand awards and farewell ceremony, where outstanding students, teachers, and contributors to the week's success will be honored alongside a formal send-off for the outgoing Headmaster. School authorities have indicated that the momentum building ahead of this year's celebrations, coupled with the arrival of the new bus, sets a positive tone for the school's development agenda going forward, even as it prepares to welcome new leadership.

As the school counts down to the celebration, Kajaji Senior High School is preparing for what promises to be a memorable and bittersweet week — one that will not only showcase the talents and unity of its students but also honor the legacy of Mr. Daniel Kwodjo Manu as he takes his leave.
